POPULARDAYS is a quartet indie pop band from Manila, Philippine. Their music is best characterized as pop, jangly, dreamy with a touch of shoegaze.

Formed in 1998, members include Charles Manjares (Vocals, Guitars), Erick Lucas (Vocals, Guitars), Jann Paul Tatad (Drums), and Ian Gacutan (Bass). They came together on the local indie music scene of Manila and displayed a unique style of pop. After three years, they were given “In-The- Raw” award in the 2001 NU Rock Awards. Such recognition is for the best unsigned band of the year. The band became part of Terno Recordings and has been continuously working with the record label’s management since 2010.

Their debut album, Somewhere in Time, was released in 2014. The 11-track album is notably Lo-Fi, Ambient, and consumed with individual influences which revolves around Shoegaze, New Wave, Dream Pop, and Indie Pop/Rock.

Rene Dolete played bass from 2010 to 2013 while Mike Ducusin joined as the new guitarist in 2015 following the departure of Charles in 2014. Before ending 2017, Veronica Macato took over as the band’s bassist for live performances.

The new line-up brings a new chapter of Populardays and yet keeping the same tune that is true to their musical roots. You may find them once/twice a month at SaGuijo, 12 Monkeys and 19 East supporting UDD and along with the Terno Recording rosters. They plan to release new record/single and release an album sometime soon.
